Personally I hope that some of my area get taken over. It means that they are lived and RPed in. If that means I have to turn a forest into a wasteland of dead trees... by all means. So long as there is enough RP behind it I'm ok with it. Kinda like how I took all the silver ware out of the inn I built simply because a band of halflings ran though and RPed taking it all. If I see it or know about it.... I will change it. Someone's been camping in an area for a few weeks and I catch them doing so, a camp ground may appear there. That's how it should be. The areas aren't for my amusement, they are meant to be enjoyed and shaped by the players. That is what ever builder should build towards in my opinion. There should be a thread for each area, or perhaps in general with specifics on locations in each post, the things that would likely be noticed around the world, helping to create points of interest for builders and RP-seekers alike: Example: *The south-west forest near the bank of the Grand River has in the past been peaceful and quiet, but of late, smoke has been appearing at intervals, climbing out of the canopy a ways into the forest. Those exploring in that direction may find humanoid tracks (Spot DC 20) throughout the woods across the river, and many tracks, seemingly made by the same creature, or one so similar as to be identical in weight and race, down at the grove there (Spot DC 15), along with some camping gear hidden nearby under a rock (Search DC 18) and a well-used circle of burned stones for holding a fire. <-- In this sort of example, a small amount of persistent storage might be good to add on a rock, for instance, if there's actual, even if not USABLE, camping gear items like tents and bedrolls or what have you....and perhaps even a Search Check to find/use the storage. *Damaging a zone, or placing up signs and such: put in a note about it, so it can actually appear IG! *Building a small fort or decided you want to dam the river by cutting a bunch of trees down into it? Let the builders know where and how! And so on and so forth.

Well I think having some sort of forge, or crafting system would be nice. Even if its a job put into the server, like a black smith that works in weapons or armor. Like black smith, tailor, magical items like scrolls and wands and things like that. Making the player seek out these characters to generate RP for them to craft these items. And what l mean by allowing players to make a dungeon is. Speak to them, hear out their idea's and give them a test of what they can come up with, and if good, even help them build it. But it would be a choice of the Team whether or not it will be put in and or if it would fit within reason of the server. As for Player run shops. Set it for them to place a item in the store and let them set a price to fit how the item is wanted. Though l am sure this may not happen. But it will help build a character's job as a owner and operator.As for Sub-races it would be nice to have one that fits the type one may play. To give them the bonus and de-buff to their character. Like Beasts, Dragons, Demons, Devils, and a few others. Beast: Picking between a small list of a few like a druid style one, give them pro's and con's to each different one. Dragon: Let them pick between a color, and give them the immunity to their element but variability, like White is for cold, but is harmed a great deal by fire as Red is the other way around. And give them a slight boost to stats, and drop a different stat to fit them. and the right breath weapon to match it even if it's weak, or base it off a character lvl to a point. Devil: Allow banish to mess with them as a de-buff to them or something. Bless harm more as divine damg as well. Demon: This may be hard as l don't know much about Devil sub-race. But you see what l mean. I can go in more detail about sub-races and more pro's and con's to them. but it will make people feel better for a character, and since this isn't going to be a Sandbox l feel this would be a great thing to add in to the server. Since a dragon should the right marks of one, or a demon being able to do things others can't and give better depth to a character IC. And give them the language for it. Even if it is a Wiget that comes up in a text in the combat log. Areltih has a great one and if need be l think there are a few who may know where to find one. *nods.* Having a crafting system would completely undermine and remove the purpose of having an item progression system. Subraces are also simply a mess on a server with a major pvp focus: people take them just to provide the best bonuses, not to provide the best rp. For the interest of the server's pvp fairness, races will be rp'd, not statistically reinforced.

Yeah, I made a reminder about this server a little while ago on Sinfar's chat since it's a sister-server of Sinfar and others had already made similar reminders; looked away from my browser for just a couple minutes a while later, BAM. Another webclient ban, lmao. And no, I hadn't been rude to anyone, so it couldn't have been that. But yeah, can't wait til suggestions are up. I've got a few that might look pretty good, and I already pinged a few peeps who might like it from other servers.

I have to admit that I do enjoy crafting. However I am sure that there can be some compromising balance between crafted items and items from loot. I remember there was some game that you could find some good items (or sets of items) from loot and also you could find some runes that would let you create some items. Also some normal items (is it the ones with yellow text?) could be altered if mixed with other gear and gain some random effects/properties, that could be better (or sometimes worst) to the original item. You could find Runes to enchant the weapons AB and such. I had play long ago in a server that had all this. The name of the server if my memory is correct was Diablo Hometown, or Diablo the Dark Wanderer.
About Styss now, I have no idea, never play there, I have only heard about it. I suppose if I will play regularly here or not depends on what sort of adventuring the server provides.

I never had a chance to play Styss unfortunately, but I did play on TSR briefly before it went down, and enjoyed that. I find that conflict of some kind drives the best roleplay, and this sounds like it'd be great for that. Considering that I don't have a home server at the moment, I'm definitely interested in this project. If it becomes one.

Afaik remember, i never played on Styss either, but on Underworld and Sacred Kingdoms, which where very similar to what this tread describes..and on World of Desire, so far the best pvp, adult rp server i ever played on. With only two cities, good and evil wich where in an eternal war. The whole char creation was custom made, so after the hardcoded creation was done you got guided through the real char creation with custom races and depending on the created char you got moved to one of the two cities as your homecity. The two cities are only reachable through a big open pvp world, and players of the two cities are always hostile and not shown on the ingame playerlist to each other. Players could attack the enemy city when ever they wanted, it wasnt allowed to redlight pvp so if i as attacker spoted to enemy playerchars in the attacked city, they could try to escape into a house but they arent allowed to redlight my hostility and the pvp that could result from it. If an attack fails you get imprisoned and questioned, that was big rp no matter if you win an attack or loose it.

*Handraise* As a non-PVPer, will there even be a place here for me? It's very pvp focused. There's some PvE elements, and some RP events, but most will be focused on the direct outcomes of pvp stuff. So...yes, sort of.
